The Nestlé Foundation initiates and supports research in human nutrition with relevance to public health in low and middle income countries according to the World Bank classification.
The Nestlé Foundation seeks that the results of research projects provide a basis for implementation and action that leads to sustainable effects in the populations studied, as generally applicable to the general population.
It also aims to allow projects to enable institutional strengthening and capacity building in a sustainable manner in the host country and greater cooperation and collaboration between the institutions of developed and developing countries.
Currently, the work of the Foundation focuses mainly on human nutrition and research issues related to:
- Maternal and infant nutrition, including breastfeeding and complementary feeding,
- Deficiencies and imbalances of macro and micronutrients,
- Interactions between infection and nutrition, and
- Nutrition education and health promotion.
You can also consider studies in other areas of human nutrition research, as long as you are dealing with malnutrition problems in eligible countries.
